A SPECIAL ceremony will be held in October to recognise community heroes that make a real difference to their neighbourhoods.

Nominations are now open for the annual Helena Homes awards night which has six categories.

These are:

Bright Young Star Award – For people under 25.

Together We Can Award – For community groups.

Green Fingers Award – For those who work to improve the environment.

Helping Hand Award – For those who provide care for others.

Neighbourhood Champion Award – For those who defend and champion their community.

Reaching Out Award – For volunteers.

Graham Ellis from Helena said: “There are countless numbers of people in St Helens who give up their time to support, improve and defend their communities. The Making a Difference Awards is a great way to recognise these unsung heroes.

“If you know an individual or group in your area who you think deserves an award for making a difference where you live please nominate them.”

The closing date for nominations is Friday, August 22. Winners will be announced at the ceremony at Langtree Park on Thursday, October 2.

Entries should be completed on an official form at helenahomes.co.uk or by emailing graham.ellis@helenapartnerships.co.uk. Alternatively call 01744 637383.
