A BENEFIT cheat who claimed more than £11,000 she was not entitled to has been given a 12 month community order.
Pamela Clough, 54, from Springfield Road in Thatto Heath, admitted two charges of fraud after failing to notify the authorities that another adult had moved into her home.
This resulted in her being paid £11,308 in Housing and Council Tax Benefit.
Clough, who appeared at St Helens Magistrates' Court, was also placed under curfew for six weeks and fined a total £1,060. She must also pay back the overpayment in full.
