POLICE have named a motorcyclist who died following a collision on the Rainford bypass as David Clarke-Frear.
The 49-year-old from Prescot died at the scene of the incident, close to the Blue Elephant at the junction with Lodge Lane, at about 8.30am on Monday (July 29).
His black Kawasaki motorcycle is believed to have been in collision with a Renault Scenic as the car was turning right across a gap in the central reservation.
Senior investigating officer Sergeant Mick Young from Lancashire Police said: “A police family liaison officer is supporting David’s family at this difficult time.
“I would appeal for anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch and contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20140728-0263.”
