A MAN who died after being found with injuries at a house in Whiston yesterday (Sunday,  July 27), has been named as 54-year-old Tony Gibbons.

Paramedics were called to an address on Martock, at around 2.40pm, following a report that an injured man had been found inside.

Mr Gibbons was placed in an ambulance to go to hospital for further treatment but unfortunately died en-route.

His family have paid tribute to him and said: "Tony loved music and going out with friends to the local labour club. Everyone loved him and he was the life and soul everywhere he went.

"Tony as a person was loved and respected by everyone. He'll be sadly missed and always loved by all his family and friends.

"His death leaves a huge hole in our family and we are devastated by this loss.

"We would ask that we are left alone at this time to grieve in peace."

An investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing and at this time the death is still being treated as unexplained.

A 55-year-old man who was arrested in connection with his death remains in police custody where he is still being questioned.
