AN ORGANISATION which helps those isolated due to mental illness is searching for volunteers.
St Helens Mind currently has eight social groups in the area which provide a safe and welcoming environment for people to enjoy the company of other people for a couple of hours a week.
Some groups are mixed, with some just for men and some just for women.
People can enjoy various activities and help to provide a social environment for people who are isolated due to difficulties associated with mental health.
And as the number of people accessing St Helens Mind services increases, more volunteers are needed to support the team and ensure Groups are run smoothly and effectively. Volunteers are vital in the successful running of St Helens Mind services, with an increasing need for Group Volunteers as well Befrienders.
This would provide great experience for anyone interested in working within mental health and social inclusion. It would also provide the chance to give something really important back into your community.
Anyone who would like to know more about the groups and how to become a volunteer should contact St Helens Mind on 01744 647089 or email admin@sthelensmind.org.uk.
