ONCE again Haydock Park was awash with a sea of pink as thousands took part in this year’s Race for Life.
Everyone taking part had their own tale to tell and a reason to inspire their efforts to raise money for charity in the fight against cancer.
The event continues to grow each year and generates a genuine feeling of unity with a carnival atmosphere.
Before they lined up at the start participants were put through their paces in a mass aerobics warm-up.
Then with freshly flexed muscles they set off around the racecourse on either a 10k or 5k route.
