FIREFIGHTERS rescued two women who were trapped in a lift between the second and third floor of a building in the town centre.

Crews from Eccleston and Whiston were called to Ormskirk Street on Friday (July 11) at around 12.32pm.

Both women, who were unharmed, were freed by 1.09am.

why did it take two crews from the opposite sides of the area for a broken lift,how much did this cost and will the bill be paid by who ever owns the lift for poor maintenance,or from the company who service repair the said lift.
