LEARN all about the fascinating history of forensics, as a new exhibition arrives at Eccleston’s Smithy Heritage Centre.
The Smithy will be featuring a display, as part of the Festival of British Archaeology giving people the chance to learn all about bog bodies and bones.
In addition, for the young ones there will be themed drop-in craft activities, available at just 50p per child.
The event will run for three weekends, starting this Saturday and finishing on Sunday, July 27.
To kick off the exhibition, a special talk will be given by Dr Andrew Shuttleworth, from the University of Liverpool, on Thursday, July 10.
Entitled ‘Now and Then: A History of Forensic Anthropology’, the evening will explore how the discipline developed over time from its early applications to the modern science of today.
It will feature a range of case studies stretching back from the Victorian era to the present day. Entry is free of charge with a 7pm start and no need to book.
The Smithy will be open for the exhibition on Saturdays and Sundays, between 1pm and 4pm, with no charge.
