SATURDAY is gala day at Moss Bank, when fun for all the family begins at 1pm on the village green at the top of Moss Bank Road.
Those intending to enter the variety of competitions catering for children and adults need to have their entries in to the competition stewards’ tent by 1.15pm.
A fancy dress parade begins at 1.30pm and competitions for juniors feature home baking, miniature garden, picture and fancy dress outfit classes with children’s sports beginning at 2pm.
The rivalry will be fierce but fun to see which grown-ups can make the best home made scones or cupcakes, fruit and vegetables or flowers.
The parade will precede the gala queen crowning ceremony.
Attractions include a free craft tent for kids, morris dancing, a cafe, fairground rides, facepainting, an art exhibition in the mission and lots of stalls.
