MISS St Helens Star winner Hannah Peters has wowed the judges again as she made the final of the prestigious Miss Blackpool competition.

Twenty-one year old Hannah was named as runner-up in the first heat, meaning she qualified for the contest’s glittering ‘black tie’ finale at the first opportunity.

The heat took place at the G Casino, in Blackpool where Hannah, from Whiston, along with heat winner Lauren Carr emerged from the 12 competitors to reach the August 15 final.

It saw the 12 ladies take part in a jeans and t-shirt round before dazzling the judges in formal evening dress.

“It’s amazing to get through. We had to appear in the casino and then we were all interviewed before the four judges,” said Hannah, who was crowned Miss St Helens Star last November.

“It was a relief getting through as I would have had to go all the way up to Blackpool again for another heat if I hadn’t.

This year’s competition marks its 60th anniversary and is open to ladies aged between 18 and 30 with competitors judged on beauty, deportment and personality.

“I’m now definitely looking forward to the final and it would be amazing to win.

“I came second in Miss Cheshire and was made up with that. Winning Miss St Helens Star really gave me the adrenaline to carry on,” added the former Rainhill High pupil, who works as a visual stylist at Marks and Spencers at Gemini.

The final takes place at the Blackpool Hilton Hotel on Friday, August 15. To attend the final tickets must be purchased for the Gala ‘Black Tie’ dinner by calling 01253 820 226 or sending an e-mail to info@MissBlackpool.com.
