NEXT year’s Mansion House beer festival promises to be even bigger than this year’s record breaker.

“We were bursting at the seams this year with everything having to be held inside because the weather was against us,” said Age UK Mid Merseyfundraiainsg director Teresa Bowen-Brown.

“The orangery will be open this month and will enable us to accomodate more people at next year’s festival.

“This year’s was our fifth festival and we took more than at the previous four put together. We had 35 sponsored barrels and all were empty at the end of the event which brought an income of £25,000. The feedback is that it was the lively and best festival yet.”

Teresa praised the generosity of the barrel sponsors: “That is what brings us our success. Our profits go to the £1.4m needed each year to provide our services in the community.”
