EARLESTOWN took a step back in time on Saturday with a nostalgic classic car show featuring cars and bikes from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Around 25 classic cars, motor cycles and scooters brought admiring glances from showgoers who headed for the high street display organised by St Helens Council in conjunction with the Clock Face based Pheonix Car Club.
Newton ward Councillor Seve Gomez Aspron, St Helens Cabinet Member for Environment and Neighbourhoods: “There were some great cars on display and we’re delighted to see Earlestown hosting this exciting, eye-catching event.
"It was a real trip down motoring’s memory lane. This marks the start of things to come, where we recognise our local shopping centres and work with them to ensure that they remain popular."
The Phoenix Car Club has around 40 members whose vehicles ranging from a Reliant three wheel van and Morris Minors to Triumph Stags, Mercedes and BMWs.
Members attend shows all over the North West, Scotland, Wales and Yorkshire and support community events, fun days and charity events throughout the year.
The show is part of a developing event programme in Earlestown town centre.
