WHEN Rebecca Crellin leaps out of an aeroplane this Saturday she will do so in memory of her friend and work colleague who died suddenly aged just 21.
James Nicholas was four days from his 22nd birthday when he collapsed with an undetected heart condition in 2012.
Rebecca, 20, worked with James for three years at B&M and was present on the “devastating” night that he died.
She will take part in the skydive at Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Rebecca admitted to a touch of nerves but joked that it was too late to back out.
Describing James as “amazing”, she added: “He was so caring and looked after everyone. If you were having a bad day he would be there for you. He was a lovely person.”
Rebecca from Sutton had joked with James in the past about doing a skydive and is determined to fulfil that commitment.
“I didn’t think I would ever have the confidence,” she explained. “I had a laugh with him saying I couldn’t do it. But I will prove him wrong.
“James’ family have been very supportive. His mum said I was insane but wished me luck.”
