THE condition of a pensioner who collided with a bus is "serious but stable", say police.
The 79-year-old suffered a head injury after he was knocked down by a single-decker Arriva bus at the junction of Borough Road and Alexandra Drive at 5.30pm on Tuesday.
He was taken to Fazakerley hospital in Liverpool for initial treatment before being transferred to Walton Neurological Centre.
The driver of the bus and the small number of passengers on board were not injured. However, the driver was left shaken.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the pedestrian in the moments before the collision, is asked to call collision investigators in Merseyside Police's roads policing department on 0151 777 5747.
