A FIFTY TWO year-old Leyland Atlantean bus took passengers on a three hour heritage trail around the borough with a guided tour of its seven historic railway sites.

The Atlantean was delivered new in 1962 to the former Ribble Motor Services Company and was in St Helens on Sunday for the North West Museum of Road Transport’s summer sizzler.

The preserved double decker, now part of the Blackpool-based Lancastrian Transport Trust collection, stopped at Rainhill, Newton-le-Willows, Vulcan village and Earlestown.
