BREAKDANCERS Tom Glynn and Gaz Mealey have been telling the world just how things are done in St Helens.
The UC Crew members are back after attending an international course in Romania where they explained the community development work they have been undertaking in St Helens and throughout Merseyside.
Tom and Gaz’s experience in working with young people, charities and local authorities teaching break dancing and DJ tricks to over 1,000 youngsters earned them the trip funded by the E’s Youth in Action programme.
Tom said: “There was some really good information and guidance on using non-formal education to increase project participation, working with groups that have few opportunities and developing awareness of citizenship with young people.”
Course participants included people from Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Bulgaria, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Spain, Romania and Greece.
