A MAN and a woman from Moss Bank have been banned from owning or keeping animals for eight years.

St Helens Magistrates’ Court heard that Alice Kim Michelle Robinson-Schofield, aged 50, and Mark Robert Schofield, 41, both of Devoke Avenue, were jointly responsible for keeping a female springer spaniel, three cross-bred puppies, three shorthaired cats, a white mouse, a blue and white budgerigar and a female cross breed dog in an unsuitable environment.

They also failed to provide the three year-old spaniel, Paddy, with veterinary treatment for a facial tumour.

Both were disqualified from owning or keeping animals, participating in keeping animals or being involved in an arrangement in which they could control or influence the way in which animals are kept. The ban runs for a period of eight years from November 15, 2013.

Neither may apply to have the disqualification order lifted until November 2017.
