THREE people were arrested in Newton-le-Willows and Haydock this morning as part of a crackdown on drug supply.

Officers from the specialist Matrix Serious Organised Crime team led an operation in St Helens this morning.

During a search of the property in Haydock officers seized a quantity of cannabis and a large amount of cash.

  • A 22-year-old man from Newton-le-Willows is being on suspicion of being concerned n the production of Class A controlled drugs.
  • A 22-year-old man from Haydock has been arrested on suspcion of being concerned in the production of class A controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).
  • A 24-year-old woman from Haydock has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).

The three arrested have been take to a police station where they will be questioned.

"Our message is clear if you are intent on drug dealing in Merseyside then we will do everything in our power to put the evidence together and put you before the courts."
