A SEA of wagging tails could be seen heading towards a special beauty parlour to raise money for The Dogs Trust.
Animal care students from St Helens College staged the doggy beauty day to also help increase awareness about responsible dog ownership.

The pampered pooches were treated to a wash and claw clip. There was also a free micro-chipping service.
The event raised more than £450, all of which will go to The Dogs Trust.

Adam Howson, curriculum leader in animal care, said: “The day was a huge success with students gaining relevant work experience, while raising money for a good cause.
“The event was well supported by local organisations, who gathered together to raise funds and promote good dog ownership.

“It is getting bigger and better each year, and we hope that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
