Updated 1:15pm Thursday 5th June 2014 in News
LIVE music fans in and around St Helens are in for a treat this Sunday, thanks to the exciting Westfield Street Music Festival.
The new music festival will see a whole host of fantastic live music and entertainment taking place up and down Westfield Street, with special showcases and street performers too. And best of all, it’s completely free!
Westfield Street Music Festival has been set up in conjunction with clubs and bars in St Helens, and is headed by Paul Griffiths from The Zoo Bar, Matthew Williams from the Sefton Arms and renowned UK events promoter David Evans.

“We’re looking forward to a big day of fun for everyone involved,” says Paul. “I’ve enjoyed supporting live music and entertainment here in St Helens for 11 years, and this year I’ve decided to start something truly special.
“St Helens can look forward to some really exciting acts on Sunday – hopefully there’s something to suit everyone’s taste.

Offering something new to St Helens town centre, the festival has even been backed by local and national comedy star Johnny Vegas.
As well as a great selection of live acts playing all day long – from noon to after 8pm – the festival will see bars and eateries along the street offering up special deals, entertainment and karaoke.
Paul and the Westfield Street Music Festival team have also invited St Helens’ Classic Car Club to showcase vintage and custom motors in the street, for everyone to enjoy.

What’s more, there will be an amazing Brazilian dance troupe, Batala, kicking things off, along with street breakdancers, artists, face painting, buskers and much, much more.
Westfield Street will also have some fairground stalls and a funhouse for all the family to try.
The event is for all ages, but anyone under 18 wanting to visit the bars along Westfield Street will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Westfield Street will be closed to traffic for the day, and there is plenty of free parking available nearby.
