BBC North West Tonight presenter Mark Edwardson will return to his old school for the first social gathering of their Alumni Society.

Mark, who is from Haydock, will attend the event at St Edmund Arrowsmith School in Ashton-in-Makerfield which provides an opportunity for former pupils to reminisce about their school days.

He said: “We are delighted that pupils and staff are getting together on June 28 to celebrate their time at what is truly a fantastic school.

“It gave me and thousands of other pupils in the area a great springboard for future life.”

Headteacher Mark Dumican added: “We are delighted that past pupils such as Mark and others have decided to form the St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School Alumni Association.

“Apart from social events we hope it will provide a wide ranging support network for former students.

“As we always say here you never leave St Edmund Arrowsmith.”
