THE horrendous weather over the bank holiday failed to put off the spectators who turned up at Carr Mill Dam for two days of racing at the Lancashire Powerboat Grand Prix.

They saw an early dramatic crash when Charlotte Newton’s boat spun out of control, colliding with another craft.

In the impact she suffered a blow to her helmet and although she managed to complete another three laps she returned to the pits.
