A REVAMPED Recycling Centre has earned a top environmental accolade.

Ravenhead Recycling Centre on Burtonhead Road is part of the network of sites offered for residents to recycle their household waste.

Its recent relaunch followed a six month closure to completely redevelop the site, making it more accessible and improving facilities.

As part of the construction, Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority worked with its contractors Cheetham Hill Construction to achieve a top rating in a civil engineering sustainability assessment.

The subsequent ‘excellent’ rating makes the Ravenhead Centre one of the greenest and sustainable on Merseyside.

More accessible ? Don't turn up in anything other than a bog standard car or you will be turned away. Make sure you have NO advertising on your vehicle what so ever or your rubbish will be deemed as trade waste and if you drive a pick up style vehicle be prepared to be asked to apply for a licence to use the ' more accessible " tip.
