STUDENTS were given a masterclass in music by Simon Aldred lead guitarist and vocalist with indie rock band Cherry Ghost.
The Ivor Novello and ‘Q’ award winning songwriter and musician inspired St Helens College Level 3 and Foundation Degree music students in the Jamm Studios.
The Glastonbury and V Festival performer shared inside knowledge aimed at boosting or inspiring them in their studies and future careers.
Music technology lecturer Anthony Fildes said: “It was an excellent opportunity for our students to engage with such an established, acclaimed artist as Simon and he provided students with an honest insight into the industry.
"Simon has a wealth of knowledge and – he was an inspiration to our students and a privilege to meet.”
The session, which was arranged through the college’s industry links enabled students to develop their creative and technical skills as a part of their programme.
