WHEN most rugby league players draw a line under their playing career they usually go into coaching or other avenues of the game but not Allan Shea.

Allan may have once been on Widnes books and turned out for Swinton but it was a trip to Benidorm which led him on a path which has seen him become The Tranceformer, comedy hypnotist.

And his is bringing his show to the Theatre Royal this summer.

The 33-year-old from The Shires explained: “I was on holiday in Benidorm and saw this hypnotist on stage. At that time I was thinking about something to do after rugby league and it’s gone on from there.

“Since I started doing this across the area it’s got bigger and bigger. Being a local lad it’s great to be on the Theatre Royal.

“The idea is that people come to be hypnotised and I make them the stars of the show, getting them to do things on stage.”

Allan said that he intends to make a donation from the show to the Steve Prescott Foundation saying that the more people fill the venue the larger the contribution.

The show is at the Theatre Royal on Saturday, June 7. Tickets cost £12. For further information call 01744 756000 or visit sthelenstheatreroyal.com.
