CREATIVE students at The Sutton Academy have been taking part in art therapy sessions with behaviour support teacher Mr Eugene Frederick.
Using articles salvaged from the scrapheap they created some eye-catching, innovative and unique designs based on work by local artist Jo Martin.
Impressed by their handiwork Jo said: “It is great that students are having the opportunity to complete projects like this. They have clearly worked hard. Losing yourself in an art project can be very calming and having a final piece to show is very rewarding. I hope they keep up the good work."
Mr Frederick said the art therapy group studies had proved good for building confidence and praised the classmates who used discarded household items such as old door handles and broken toys in their designs which will go on display in school.
Pictured with their recycled masterpieces are Bradley Featherstone, Kie Kelsall, Wade draper, Adam Helps, Kane Mayze and Mr Frederick.
