WITH more than 21 years combined on the beat, three members of the police have been thanked by a community for their hard work and dedication.

Police Community Support Traffic Officers Julia McManus, Lesley Anslow and Kevin Green are familiar faces in Eccleston, especially at Smith’s Farm Store on Cambridge Road.

Owner Janet Travis has forged strong ties with the officers over the years as they work to help combat anti-social behaviour and make a positive difference to the community.

When Janet heard that Lesley was moving onto pastures new in Thatto Heath she wanted to do something to recognise their efforts.

She presented all three with flowers at her shop as a thank you.

Neighbourhood Inspector for Eccleston Elaine Collins said: “It’s great the community wanted to do something like this for Julia, Lesley and Kevin.

“They are very much part of the fabric of the area and the work they do every day really does have a positive impact on the lives of local people.”
