WARGRAVE Primary School in Newton-le-Willows has been chosen to be part of a new international school-twinning project.
As part of a UK Government and British Council education event Wargrave will link up with a school in South Africa.
Teachers and pupils are working with Bathokwa Primary School, in Pretoria to learn how to become responsible citizens and develop skills to work in a global economy.
Senior teacher Matthew Swann, who has visited Bathokwa, said: “The opportunity to work in a school in South Africa was an amazing experience that excited all our pupils and in June we welcome Bathokwa's principal Ms. Crystal Nkwyana to our school.
“The main focus is on using emerging technologies to link pupils from both schools and we are all looking forward to using Skype, e-mail and virtual learning to share information.”
