THESE distinctive bicycles worth around £4,000 were among a number of items taken during a house burglary.

The crooks struck at the property on Longton Lane in Rainhill during the morning of Wednesday, April 23.

They also made off with a Sony Vaio laptop, an Apple iPad 4, an iPhone 5 and a quantity of cash. The bikes are a Pinarello Dogma Hard Tail and a Bianchi Hard Tail.

Detective Constable Roy Waller from Merseyside Police said: "I ask members of the public to be on the lookout in case they are offered such items for sale, on the street, in a pawnbrokers or in a pub.

"I would also appeal for people to cast their minds back to last Wednesday and if they saw anything that in hindsight seems suspicious, to contact us with that information.

"Information that seems trivial to them may turn out to be crucial for us in catching the offenders."

Anyone with information that may help this investigation is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 6842 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
