TWO people were injured following a three car crash at Haydock Island this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene on the East Lancs Road at around 1.20pm. Traffic reports had suggested one car flipped over.
By the time emergency services arrived three people were out of their vehicles.
A 37-year-old woman who was in a Ford S-Max suffered suspected injuries to her shoulder and leg and was taken to St Helens Walk-in Centre.
A 50-year-old man in a Volvo suffered a slight head injury and shock and was checked at the scene by paramedics.
And a 60-year-old man who was in a Nissan Quashqai was not thought to have been hurt.
Firefighters from St Helens and Newton were at the scene for around 35 minutes.
