THE library at Cowley International College will become a stage for magicians, poetry readings and live music next Wednesday.
As part of World Book Night celebrations on April 23, visitors are being invited to the event at the 11-16 site off Hard Lane when they can experience two hours of literature and arts, and go home with a free book.
Volunteers will give away hundreds of thousands of books globally in this international literary event.
Cowley marketing manager Dawn Ratcliffe said: “Cowley is proud to be involved in this wonderful initiative and we hope that people from the local community join us to celebrate the exciting world of books.
“Whether you are an avid reader or even if you haven’t picked up a book since you left school, come along and join us – everyone is welcome to join us between 4pm and 6pm.”
Free books on offer include The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne, The Recruit by Robert Muchamore and Short Stories by Roald Dahl.
