EASTER is a time for treats and holidaying youngsters will get more than their share at Church Square Shopping Centre right at the heart of town.

During the school break the busy mall is providing activities for families and tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday the centre will stage egg decorating workshops for children, along with a Easter Bunny hunt.

The mall’s centre will take on a European air following the Continental tradition of hanging eggs from trees to mark the festive time of year, highlighted by the Enchanted Easter Tree which will spring into life.

The centre’s Shopper Whopper children’s club mascot will be helping youngsters in the workshop as the children decorate two eggs – one to take home, the other to hang from the Enchanted Easter Tree so friends and family can admire their handiwork.

In the Easter Bunny hunt families have to track down Easter pictures in shop windows, with the winners each receiving an Easter treat.

Church Square Shopping Centre manager Steven Brogan said: “I am sure these events will prove very popular with families. It’s often hard at this time of year for parents to find something that’s on the doorstep and easy to take part in that will keep youngsters amused.

“Everybody at the centre will enjoy taking part in the Easter event, and we are looking forward to seeing the children’s designs on the tree.”

Church Square Shopping Centre is open Good Friday (9am – 5.30pm), Easter Saturday (9am – 6pm) and Bank Holiday Monday (10am – 4pm).

The Centre is home to a range of big name stores, such as River Island, BHS, Boots and Superdrug, along with independent retailers plus the busy St Mary’s Market.
