AFTER more than 40 years’ in the limelight as a songwriter and performer 10cc’s Graham Gouldman is on the road again with his Heart Full of Songs.

His spring tour of 20 accoustic concerts includes an appearance at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre next month when his band line-up will include Mike Stevens and Iain Hornal.

The audience can expect a sublime, acoustic opening set, featuring Gouldman and the guys performing some of the hits he penned for other artists. After writing hits such as Pamela, Pamela for Wayne Fontana, For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul for The Yardbirds, Bus Stop and Look Through Any Window for The Hollies, No Milk Today for Herman's Hermits, and Tallyman for Jeff Beck, he formed 10cc in 1972 with Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Crème.

The band they enjoyed 11 Top 10 hits, including numbers ones – Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday – along with tracks such as Donna, reaching number two, Good Morning Judge (number five) and The Things We Do For Love (number six).

In June Gouldman’s status as a leading songwriter will be highlighted when he is inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York. He will join an elite group including Bob Dylan, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Burt Bacharach, Neil Sedaka, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen and Sting.

In recent years Gouldman has co-written songs with Gary Barlow, Tim Rice, Paul Carrack, Chris Difford and Suggs and Country Songwriter of the Year Gary Burr. Gouldman also co-wrote with McFly for their Number one album Wonderland.
