AN Easter weekend funday and charity rugby match is being staged at Blackbrook ARLFC club in Boardmans Lane in memory of Joshua Harden.

Joshua’s sister Corin Tyson, who is helping organise the event, explained how family and friends had decided to stage the fundraiser to support the work of Claire House Children’s Hospice.

“Joshua passed away in October last year. He had a lot of conditions but he sadly died from kidney failure,” explained Corin.

“We are very grateful to Claire House for the care Joshua received there over the past 10 years."

Joshua enjoyed going to the Blackbrook club to watch his 12 year-old brother Louis in action and the Blackbrook club has rallied to support the family’s determination to help Claire House.

Now Corin’s husband, Stuart, and Neil Davies, Louis’ coach at the club, have gathered together two teams of willing players to face each other in a rugby match that kicks-off at 3pm on Saturday, April 19.

The fun day begins at 1pm with ongoing events including a barbecue and bouncy castle, a rodeo bull, nail art, a penalty shootout and visits from Claire Bear and Geoffrey Giraffe.

Evening entertainment in the club will be provided by live band Stillia from 7pm with tickets for the show costing £5, available from Blackbrook rugby club or call 07868 535394.
