A MAN has received a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to a serious assault in a town centre bar.
Michael Henshaw, 31, from Ridgewood Drive in Sutton admitted assaulting a man at the Dream Bar in Westfield Street in December.
Following a hearing at St Helens Magistrates’ Court he was sentenced to 16 weeks in jail suspended for a year after what was described as a very serious assault.
Henshaw will be electronically tagged and placed under curfew for four months.
He must also carry out 100 hours unpaid work within a year and was fined a total £465.
