TWO men have been banned from keeping any animals for seven years after they were found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.
David Johnson, 39, and David Ashton, 20, from Brock Hall Close in Clock Face, both pleaded guilty to failing to seek proper veterinary treatment for the cross breed named Holly despite knowing she was suffering from chronic arthritis.
They also failed to address the causes of her weight loss and weakness.
Both were given Community Orders and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within nine months.
They were also fined £250, £5 which will be deducted each week from their benefits.
