GRANTS of up to £500 are available to community groups who come up with ideas on how a million pounds of Lottery money should be spent in Wargrave, Newton-le-Willows.

The £1m Lottery grant has already been awarded for Wargrave and has to be spent within 10 years. But in order to access the cash an action plan has to be drawn-up on how it is best spent.

The Wargrave Big Local (WABL) is offering up to £500 for community groups who could carry out a survey to find out how locals would like to see the money spent.

Over the past year WABL has been gathering opinions and ideas. Now the group wants to hear from people who don’t feel part of the Wargrave community; people who can’t get out and about due to caring responsibilities or a disability, young people and young adults.

“Consultation grants can be used for any purpose that helps us to understand what local people would like to see happen in Wargrave,” said a WABL spokesman.
