RAINHILL St Ann’s CE Primary School has received top marks from education watchdogs.

Ofsted Inspectors judged pupils' achievements, the quality of teaching, leadership and management, and the behaviour and safety of pupils as 'outstanding'.

Delighted headteacher Rebecca Wilkinson said: "We're delighted that the efforts of the whole school community have been recognised.

"I've always known that we have an extremely strong team here. Without exception, staff, parents and governors share high expectations and ambitions for the school and all its pupils.

"But we never rest on our laurels at St Ann's and we will continue working hard to maintain and improve standards."

Highlighted in the report were the quality of teaching in all year groups and standards ‘significantly’ above average throughout the school.

Inspectors said the pupils were considerate, friendly and polite and the headteacher was an inspirational leader who had effective support from senior and middle leaders.
