A PLANNING application to demolish a former care home and build 11 houses has been submitted to St Helens Council.

Helena Partnerships is proposing to bulldoze the ex-Moss Bank Elderly Persons Home on Victoria Avenue.

The housing association would then build 11 new homes.

What a shame. This purpose built care home is much more suitable for purpose than most other local converted care homes, with spacious lounge facilities instead of everyone sat in a square around a TV. Its sad that it can't be refurbished and used for its original use.... It's not like we're not going to need more facilities like this in future.
