Jasmine to celebrate birthday at Hamleys toy store
WHEN Jasmine Beedles celebrates her 12th birthday it will be yet another milestone her parents never expected to see.
Jasmine was born with DiGeorge Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects internal organs.
Although it is a terminal illness, Jasmine has exceeded expectations and continues to defy early medical opinion which said she had months to live.
Since her birth, the Star has followed her brave battle against the illness.
Mum Samantha says every day spent with her is one they did not expect to see. They are already making plans to celebrate Jasmine’s 12th birthday at Hamleys toy store in Manchester this summer.
An extra guest at the party will be Jasmine’s two-year-old sister Zara.
Sam, 32, from Sutton Manor, said: “Jasmine is doing really well at the moment. Everyone is so pleased with her. She will be 12 in June and no-one thought she would get this far.
“There’s still nothing we can do for her so we take every day as it comes. The doctors are amazed with her.
“And now we have another daughter Zara who is two next weekend.
“Jasmine loves having a little sister and Zara has already learned sign language to communicate her.
“And when we give Jasmine her medicine Zara says it’s for her heart.”
Jasmine was given the VIP treatment at a recent trip to Hamleys in Manchester at half term with an event to celebrate their store expansion after she was named their ‘Biggest Fan’ for 2014.
A member of the store’s entertainment team arranged a special visit by the store’s mascot Hamley Bear.
Sam explained: “Whenever we went to London, Jasmine always wanted to go to Hamleys so we were made up when it opened in Manchester.”
