YOU could lose five pounds in weight in just two weeks simply by cycling three to five miles each day.
The benefits of cycling are being highlighted by St Helens Council who have underlined the virtues of switching from commuting by car to getting on your bike.
Most people could cover one and a half to two and a half miles each way on a bicycle in 20-30 minutes saving about £28 each month in the process plus weight you’ve always wanted to lose.
“Bicycles require no fossil fuel and produce zero emissions, take up a lot less space than other vehicles and riding releases endorphins that relieve stress and boost your mood,” said a Council spokesman.
