BLIND and partially sighted people can benefit from a pioneering mobile sight loss information service which will be in Earlestown on Tuesday, March 18 and in St Helens on Thursday, March 20.

Packed with the latest aids and equipment the advice centre created by national charity Action for Blind People, will open its doors to people interested in or affected by visual impairment.

A friendly and knowledgeable team will demonstrate aids ranging from vibrating bank note detectors to talking microwaves and tin lids along with impartial, practical advice and support.

Neal Atkinson, from Action for Blind People’s Sight Loss Information Service, said: "Whether you are visually impaired or know somebody who may be having problems with their sight, please pay us a visit and pick up information or ask us questions. Visitors can try out a wide range of daily living aids or the latest computer and magnification technology.”

The mobile unit will be in Market Street, Earlestown between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday and in Church Square, St Helens between 10am and 4pm on Thursday.
