MAKEUP artist Jen Hunter couldn’t believe it when she was named Makeup Specialist of the Year at the prestigious Professional Beauty Awards at London’s Guild Hall.
“It was just incredible,” said 28 year-old Jen, from Eccleston. She was the North West’s only representative in the final which also featured two contestants from London, one from Dublin and one from Edinburgh.
“I was in so much shock when they announced my name I don’t remember going on stage to receive my award,. It was surreal. Alan Waterman, who is Joan Collins’ make-up artist, congratulated me and I had my photograph taken with him.
“Now I am finishing off my teaching course at the West Lancashire College, it’s for a post graduate certificate of education, which will mean I am qualified to teach media, make-up and fashion.”
Jen will continue her freelance make-up work as well as her involvement in bridal and fashion work.
Eve Oxberry, Group Editor of Professional Beauty said: "We had a huge number of entries this year so the winners of the Professional Beauty Awards can be confident that they really are the best in the UK."
