SCHOLARSHIPS worth up to £1,000 per year are being offered to talented sportsmen and women who are offered and accept a place at Edge Hill University.
Gold, silver and bronze scholarships are for students who have applied for full-time study on an undergraduate, foundation degree or PGCE course and have firmly accepted an offer of a place for the 2014/15 academic year.
Those who can demonstrate the ability and ambition to improve in their sport during their time at the Ormskirk university are encouraged to apply.
Gold, silver and bronze awards all provide free access to Edge Hill’s sports facilities with the gold level scholarship awards up to £1,000 each academic year to put towards training and expenses.
The silver level scholarships are worth up to £500 per year.
Applicants need to complete and submit a Sports Scholarship form before Friday, May 30. Full details can be seen at www.edgehill.ac.uk/scholarships/sports-prospective/.
Edge Hill also operates a representative fund where individuals or groups selected for international or national competitions may apply for assistance to compete.
Scholarships administrator Zoe Slater, School said: “We’re keen to recognise talent and ability.
“These scholarships underline the importance we place on outstanding achievements and complement our already wide range of awards available for both new students and those already completing courses at Edge Hill.”
It is possible to apply for both a Sports Scholarship and an Entrance Excellence scholarship, but only one of these awards will be allocated to individuals.
