A FLASH mob will perform in the town centre on Saturday to highlight the need to stamp out violence against women and girls.

St Helens’ Soroptimists will stage a song and dance session in Church Square to mark International Women’s Day.

They are urging people to come along for a few minutes to show support.

“It starts with education of the whole community, especially with boys and men, to change attitudes towards those who allow violence to happen by raising awareness among young people,” said Sue Black of the Soroptimists.

“Please come and join us for a few minutes to show your support.”

‘Strong Hands Stop Violence’ fridge magnets will be available for £1.

The event at Church Square starts at 10.30am.
