Traffic collision closed Rainford by-pass
POLICE have closed the southbound carriageway of the A570 Rainford by-pass going towards St Helens following a two vehicle collision this afternoon.
A man said to be elderly and a 19-year-old woman who were the drivers of the cars a Vauxhall Corsa and Ford KA were taken to Whiston Hospital for minor injuries.
The section of road between Bushey Lane and Mossborough Road roundabouts is completely closed with southbound traffic re-routed through Rainford.
