ROMANCE will be in the air on Saturday at a Valentine’s Farmers Market at Fir Tree Farm, Kings Moss.
The Feast of Saint Valentine is famous for its aphrodisiac foods and Cupids will add a string to their bows with a romantic feast topped by Shirley’s Pies Valentine’s edition and heart shaped red velvet almond and vanilla treats created by Carefully Crafted Cakes of Billinge.
You can indulge in free tastings of Rubis red wine, infused with velvety Belgian chocolate and red cherry fruit with or without Sloe Motion’s cherry brandy.
Regular stallholders have warmed to the Valentine’s theme such as Wudstock’s wooden love hearts, Tiger Muffin’s scented heart-shaped soaps. Red primroses, red roses and other cut flowers, plus honey and garlic, red chilli, avocado and figs, bespoke truffle chocolates, pomegranate cordial and Raven Roses’ romantic red chutney will all be on offer.
Fir Tree Farm shop and cafe will offer crafted stone heart soap bowls, heart shaped trinket boxes and for those tardy Valentines, home made cards.
The market is open between 9am and 1.30pm. Admission and parking is free with great local produce on offer.
