AN APPEAL has gone out for information about a Christmas Day hit and run incident which left a man with serious leg injuries.

At about 1am on Wednesday, December 25, a 33-year-old man was crossing Robins Lane when he was hit by a vehicle which did not stop at the scene.

Police are examining CCTV footage from the area and are continuing their investigations.

The victim also suffered cuts to his face and was taken to Whiston Hospital where he received treatment and has since been released.

Detective Inspector Simon Draco said: "A man has been left with severe injuries to his legs following this incident. It happened it the early hours of Christmas morning and it is possible someone might have seen something.

”If you were in the area at the time and saw a car being driven erratically around the time of the incident please contact us.

”I would urge the driver of the car responsible, or anyone with information, to contact police.”
