ST HELENS Council is urging users of social media to make a stand against violence towards women.
In its backing of the White Ribbon campaign, the Council is encouraging people to add a white ribbon to their Facebook and Twitter profile pictures to show their support.
And the Council will use social media to help spread a series of messages over the Valentine’s period.
These include ‘V is for Valentine, not violence’, ‘Love shouldn’t hurt’ and ‘Love is in the air… but not for everyone.’
In addition, the White Ribbon flag will fly above the Town Hall of the week of February 10 to 16 signify the council’s support.
