A MASSIVE £10,000 boost has been made to the Steve Prescott Foundation thanks to the outstanding efforts of the lads and lassies at Thatto Heath Crusaders ARLFC.

A fun and action packed day at the club’s Hatton Solicitors Crusader Park was organised by open-age player Steve Woods and his #Buffspromotions team to bring everybody together under the Steve Prescott banner.

The day included a 10K run from Haydock to the Thatto Heath club where they staged a Masters v Open Age rugby match rounded off by entertainment from Mad Hat Ska and DJ’s Alex Porter and Crazy Eyes.

Steve said: “Everybody played their part but never did we think we could make such a sum. This is testament to those who participated and the respect people have for Steve Prescott.”

Secretary Martin Blondel, secretary of the Steve Prescott Foundation, praised the efforts of those involved: “This is a fantastic start to the year and at a time of great sadness for the SPF. This fund raising fits our profile going forward of getting everybody involved and having fun. An awesome effort by Steve Woods, Perry Kenyon and all the people involved in a great club.”

Now #Buffspromotions hope to make the Steve Prescott Day an annual event.
